Eeeet's Aaaliiiiiive!!

Yay! My (carbon!) cranks came in, and with a little toolin' around to 'til the wee hours of the night, my road bike is finally built:

Pretty swell, huh? =)

So much more carbon now....on the rear derailleur, cranks, brake levers.. The seatpost will likely get replaced with carbon as well! It'll look extra cool once i set up the Conti 4000's, and get that new front wheel.

I must say, it's noticeably lighter than any bike i've ever had, i'm so excited to finally have a 'real' race bike! Wooot! (Oh, the Newton Height road race next week has been canceled - i guess i'll just have to ride around on this for fun instead!)

I decided to mix things up with the bar tape, whaddya think?

From 07-03-09 - Ne...
Will have to give it a bit of time...it's not as cool as i'd hoped, but maybe it'll pass!

Also, found a couple more pics with moi on Roadie.ca from Sunday's race:
From 07-03-18 - VC...
Lotsa peeps in this pic - Demian (who finished 6th!) is right in front of me, Wendy Simms on the left in the orange, and beside me, tho barely visible, is Aaron, whom i met last summer and brought to the track, he ALSO had a CX bike w/PowerTap! The three of us were kinda odd looking, i didn't see too many other PowerTaps...or CX bikes..OR fenders...haha!

From 07-03-18 - VC...
Me and a B, didn't catch his name...he was strong as well tho, i forget which way he went, perhaps ahead of me. It's funny - i look like i'm having fun there, i'm pretty sure i wasn't..haha

Anyway, i gotta get to bed, lemme know whatcha think of my funky new bar tape! =)

awesome bar tape! it would also be cool to have orange and green striped bar tape- i guess wrap each around side by side or something.

Yeah, they gotta come up with some cooler bar tapes..tho there is a silver out there!

I've tried different ways of wrapping together, just couldn't make it work. =(

The bike is currently at 19lbs, and with my new front wheel, race tires, and a new seatpost, it'll no doubt be under 19lbs - yip!!
